Fermilab Senior Construction Coordinator ProSidian seeks a Fermilab Senior Construction Coordinator to support an engagement for the Energy, Resources, & Industrials Sector Clients and ProSidian Team Members work as part of a Key Personnel Cadre to fulfill T&M - Time and Materials requirements for a provide Fermilab Construction Coordinator/Task Manager related services and support for The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) Proton Improvement Plan II Project (PIP-II) at The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), located just outside Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago, IL. Fermilab is a Department Of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. This facility is operated by The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) Maintenance & Operation Contractor for Fermilab as a partnership of the University of Chicago and the Universities Research Association (URA). This position will be based near Batavia, IL, and can reside in or office within 50 miles of Fermilab.
Under general supervision and based on significant knowledge of the laboratory's procedures and the operations of the area to which assigned, provide specialized Fermilab Construction Coordinator support and performs moderately complex duties, tasks, and assignments that are broad, non-routine, and diversified, exercising a moderate degree of independent decision-making and problem resolution. As an Fermilab Construction Coordinator in the Fermilab Proton Improvement Plan II Project (PIP-II), you will:
Lead and coordinate Fermilab project managers and senior construction staff in overseeing construction activities across the 6,800 acre Fermilab site.
Lead and coordinate in obtaining, or arranging for procurement of, associated material and the preparation of cost estimates and renews existing or initiates new construction and service subcontract
Attends the contractors daily planning meetings, weekly toolbox meetings, and monthly ES&H meetings.
Lead and contribute effectively within a diverse workforce and uphold Fermilab's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Lead and coordinate construction activities with ongoing Laboratory operations including mobilization and set up on construction equipment and processes, utility service interruptions, traffic control, and Laboratory provided services and equipment.
Ensures that all contractor and sub-tier contractor employees attend Fermilabs Subcontractor Orientation and other Fermilab-provided training. Leads and/or participates in weekly construction progress meetings with subcontractor.
Ensures that goods and services meet specifications.
Inspects construction work to ensure that materials, equipment, and work standards, schedules, safety, environmental protection, and quality requirements conform to contract specifications, applicable construction codes, ES&H Plans, applicable OSHA Standards, and hazard analyses.
Issue work authorizations, verify subcontractor charges for work segments completed, approve payment requests and the verification of progress payment invoices.
Issues daily reports on construction concerns and work progress, and ensures that proper documentation is maintained.
Lead all aspects of subcontractors' planning and quality control processes, including preliminary job site discussions, hazard assessments for the scope of work and final acceptance inspections.
Monitors and enforces contractor compliance with their Environment Safety and Health (ES&H) Program, the ES&H requirements in the contract, and the hazard assessments for the scope of work.
Oversee the work of construction contractors for conformance to the contract agreements/documents.
Oversees contractors planning and quality control processes, including preliminary job site discussions and final acceptance inspections.
Participates in contractor performance review at end of the subcontract.
Perform physical walk downs of problematic equipment in all areas of lab to aid in determining and potentially carrying out correction, improvement, and replacements with lab resources.
Prepares and distributes the Work Permit/Notification forms. Leads and/or participates in preconstruction meetings to establish ES&H expectations.
Prepares cost estimates and reviews existing or initiates new construction and service contracts.
Provide documentation describing ongoing and completed work.

Review plans and specifications, and recommend revisions where appropriate, prior to invitations for bids.
Review variations from the plans and specifications requested by the subcontractor and authorize such variations or refer them to the project management when changes may significantly affect project design, engineering specifications, or cost.
Reviews and accepts the contractor hazard analysis and ensures that no work is performed by the contractor or sub-tier contractor until the hazard analysis has been accepted, and reviewed and signed off by each contractor and sub-tier contract employee on the job.
Serve as liaison to various Fermilab groups affected by construction projects to ensure complete communication of schedule and any operational conflicts arising from construction/service activities.
Serve as one of Fermilab's Task Manager and Construction Coordinator to plan and spearhead work for subcontractor workers.
Serves as a liaison to various Laboratory groups affected by construction projects to ensure that they are informed of construction, operational schedules and/or conflicting schedules.
Serves as a Service/Task Manager, planning and supervising work for contractor workers.
Serves as first line of contact with contractors and abide by all environmental, safety and health regulations.
Work directly with senior construction staff [within the Facilities Engineering Services Section (FESS)] in overseeing contract services and construction, including; planning and quality assurance processes, guiding preliminary job site discussions and final acceptance inspections, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing work authorizations and requisitions, performing site inspections and preparing daily reports.

Two (2) year degree in a construction related field or five (5) years of relevant experience
OSHA 1926 30-hour training - This training must be accomplished prior to being considered for assignment at Fermilab
Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Must have completed OSHA Construction Safety 30 Hour or ability to complete within 30 days.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:
Masters Degree (minimum Bachelor degree) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or related field with 10-15 years of heavy industrial/commercial experience.
Experience in overseeing and managing heavy industrial/commercial construction is required.
Knowledge of all construction disciplines, including; excavations, conventional construction, electrical, mechanical and building automation is desired.
