SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager (GM) to lead our HVAC Construction and Service division. The GM will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HVAC construction operations, including planning and project management, business development, financial performance, team leadership, and client satisfaction. The GM is responsible for managing and supporting MECCO's salesforce as well as collaborating with the Comprehensive Solutions team heavily. There will also be a significant responsibility to lead and inspire a team of skilled HVAC technicians to deliver exceptional service while driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales, HVAC systems and service, construction management, and operational leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
Operational Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the commercial HVAC division, including service, sales, installation, customer service, dispatching, and billing.
Financial Management: Review and manage P&L, analyze profitability, and manage budgets to achieve financial goals.
Data Analysis: Analyze accounting and financial data to support decision-making
Client and stakeholder relationship: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring: Consistently monitor financial and operational performance, adjusting expenses and procedures as needed.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a dynamic business plan with annual objectives for growth, revenue, and market share.
Procurement Management: Manage procurement to control costs and maintain high-quality standards.
Team Leadership: Train and mentor managers and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence.
Customer Service: Ensure the highest quality of customer service is maintained.
Process Improvement: Continuously improve operational efficiency and business relationships.
Growth Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth.
Performance Evaluation: Evaluate performance and productivity to identify areas for improvement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 7-10 years of progressive HVAC industry experience with at least 5 being in a senior leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Commercial experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of all HVAC systems, construction methods, and building codes.
Outstanding leadership skills and team building abilities - strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain rapport and positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical guidance and ensure the team stays ahead of industry trends to maintain cutting-edge service delivery.
Customer Satisfaction: Promote a customer-centric approach, ensuring every interaction exceeds expectations and customer concerns are swiftly resolved
Team Development: Mentor and develop your team, fostering professional growth and creating a positive, inclusive work culture
Excellent communication, financial acumen and business development skills.
Must possess field expertise, HVAC sales and cost accounting experience
Must have basic PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications and database software.
Ability to use service management software and financial accounting software.
Master's license in MD, DC, and VA is highly desirable.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Business Growth Focus: Demonstrated track record of achieving year-over-year business growth and a proven ability to scale a business from $5 million to $25 million annually.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with field management software and data dashboards.
