American Asphalt Paving Co. and Wilkes Barre Materials, LLC have immediate openings for a high-quality, skilled *HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC *at our Shavertown and Plains, PA locations*.* The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

*Responsibilities:* * Inspect, Diagnose, and Repair equipment such as pavers, dozers, excavators, loaders, etc. * This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and electrical components, as well as proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. * Test the overhauled equipment to ensure it is operating efficiently. * Perform routine, preventative maintenance and inspections on the equipment. Prepare and maintain accurate inspection, maintenance records, and maintenance schedules on each piece of equipment. * Perform all work according to OSHA and American Asphalt Safety Policies. * Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

*Requirements:* * Prefer 2-3 years' direct experience working on heavy construction equipment. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds. * Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test, and be willing to submit to, and pass, random drug/alcohol testing; * Salary commensurate with experience.
