Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly organized In-House Design Manager to oversee our design operations and serve as the bridge between our clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and wants to make a tangible impact on rebuilding a community. Key Responsibilities ·Lead and manage the in-house design team, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines. ·Oversee all architectural and structural design phases, from concept development to permit-ready plans. ·Collaborate closely with clients to incorporate their customization requests while ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with local codes. ·Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and permitting agencies to streamline approvals. ·Ensure all design deliverables are detailed, accurate, and construction-ready. ·Maintain and refine our library of pre-approved home plans, incorporating lessons learned and design innovations. ·Support the estimating and construction teams with design-related input during bidding and build phases. ·Stay up-to-date with building codes, materials, and sustainable construction trends. Qualifications ·Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). ·Minimum 5 years of experience in residential design, preferably within a design-build environment. ·Strong understanding of California building codes and permitting processes. ·Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp. ·Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills. ·Ability to balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines. ·Collaborative mindset with a focus on client satisfaction.
