Position Overview : The intent of the pools is to create a list of qualified applicants who are interested in teaching on a temporary part-time basis in various disciplines. Career and Technical Instructors are employed on a program year/term basis. The Career and Technical Instructors will focus on the skills and knowledge needed for careers within local-in demand industries, including but not limited to logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, food preparation and construction. In the programs of study, students investigate the impact of industries on the local and global economy, marketing foundations and functions, and human resource management. Essential Duties: Prepares complete course outlines and syllabi.
Plans and is prepared to deliver instruction and adjust curriculum and content as needed.
Courteous and approachable to students and inspires students to engage in subject matter.
Instruction is consistent with the stated and approved goals and content of the course.
Uses standards of student feedback that are clear, fair and followed consistently throughout the course.
Requires levels of instructor and student effort sufficient to the mastery of the subject or skills in the course.
Effective use of teaching aids and materials required of students (e.g, texts, manuals, etc.).
Coordinate with supervisor and instructional coach to synchronize course contents and methods with other teachers in the program/discipline.
Meets and assist students during office hours or by appointment or at other reasonable times.
Knowledgeable about and abides by policies and procedures. This includes accurate and timely submission of all reports, tests, grades, paperwork and meet deadlines and targets.
Orders instructional materials, equipment and textbooks with sufficient lead time.
Exercises good judgment in the use of and/or management of facilities, equipment and supplies.
Attends assigned meetings as requested and works well with peers, staff and administration.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Must be CPR certified.
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, experience leading a group of students.
Knowledge of career services and labor market trends.
Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment, work effectively and calmly under pressure and maintain high level of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and in a team and manage multiple projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
