We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IT Infrastructure Construction Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols during the construction and deployment of IT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA standards, promote a culture of safety, and mitigate risks associated with the construction and installation of data centers, networking facilities, and related IT environments.

Job Description

Safety Program Development and Implementation:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and policies tailored to IT infrastructure construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Training and Education:

  • Provide safety training to construction and IT teams, including subcontractors, to ensure awareness of safety practices and regulations.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Site Monitoring and Auditing:

  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Document safety incidents, near misses, and violations; conduct thorough investigations and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including OSHA logs and compliance documentation.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and IT staff to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and coordinate inspections or audits as required.

Emergency Preparedness and Response:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
  • Lead safety drills and ensure all personnel are prepared for potential emergencies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging safety technologies, and changes to OSHA regulations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve safety practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably within IT infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with safety challenges specific to data center and IT infrastructure construction.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train teams and address safety concerns.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
