IT Network Systems Administrator, Building & Construction (Onsite)

Our client is an established, privately held, growing, New York-area government contractor. Our clients focus is in providing Information Technology (IT) Services to city, state and federal government clients. We are currently seeking an experienced IT Network Systems Administrator to work in a full-time role onsite at a client location in Manhattan, New York City / Newark, New Jersey.
Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Network Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting various IT computer networks and systems.
The ideal candidate will have relevant technical education, certifications and 5+ years of relevant IT Network Administration and cybersecurity experience. Experience with software platforms used in Building, Construction or related areas is highly desirable. Must be customer-focused with effective influencing and communication skills, and a strong understanding of system user needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Maintain, configure, troubleshooting and support various IT computer networks and systems.
Install, update and configure network software, manage user accounts and monitor network and system performance.
Resolve technical network and system issues. Provide ongoing support, upgrades and enhancements for the assigned systems platforms.
Work closely with Project Management, IT, Engineering and other stakeholders. Ensure that network and systems software is configured properly and that all business requirements are successfully met.
Implement and support new client requirements and customizations.
Consistently engage with clients and stakeholders to maintain relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field. Relevant IT network and systems administration certifications such as CCNA, Comp TIA Network+, CCNP, CCIE, Microsoft Azure or AWS network certifications.
5+ years of relevant IT Network Systems Administration experience managing and supporting large IT networks and systems software platforms. Knowledge g Microsoft Intune device and application management platform desirable
Knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and scripting . Network and systems cybersecurity experience required.
Understanding of various software platforms used in Building, Construction or related functions or industries.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experienced in incident management including ownership, assessment and initial support, escalation / notification, business impact analysis, resolution tracking and senior escalations.
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management principles and practices.
Effective problem-solving and relationship-management skills. Prior experience collaborating closely with users, clients, stakeholders and technology suppliers to resolve technical issues.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with users, clients, team members, technical staff, and management. Able to interface, communicate and maintain effective relationships with team members and all levels of management on an ongoing basis and work as a trusted IT professional.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for use in communication, analysis & tracking.

Must be able to pass a required background check and/or security clearance to work on government projects.

POSITION LOCATION:
Office-based role in New York, NY / New Jersey. Must be able to commute daily to New York City.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITY:
Serve as a key member of the client's IT team. Collaborate with internal team members, users, clients and vendor partners. Mentor team members.

RELOCATION ELIGIBILITY:
No relocation assistance provided. Local, qualified New York City metro area candidates will be given preference and priority. Qualified candidates willing to self-relocate to the New York City metro area will also be considered.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORMATION:
Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
