We are seeking an experienced and driven Landscape Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of landscape construction projects-from initial mobilization through to project closeout. You'll be overseeing installations of everything from patios to retaining walls to large-scale planting. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring work is completed safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of landscape construction processes, excellent team leadership skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors, materials, budgets, and client expectations simultaneously.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all field operations on landscape construction projects (residential, commercial, municipal).
- Supervise up to five projects simultaneously with the Assistant Construction Manager.
- Manage daily jobsite activities including crew assignments, equipment deployment, and subcontractor oversight.
- Ensure projects are built according to design specifications, codes, and quality expectations.
- Conduct pre-construction walkthroughs and review plans and schedules with team.
- Lead and mentor a crew of foremen, laborers, and equipment operators.
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Ensure all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
- Identify staffing needs and support hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with deadlines and milestones.
- Coordinate material orders and deliveries to ensure minimal downtime.
- Communicate daily with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure seamless operations.
- Track project budgets, labor hours, and material usage.
- Ensure that vendor delivery tickets and all paperwork are processed and turned in timely.
- Identify change orders, delays, or deviations, and provide timely solutions.
- Work with the estimating and finance teams to report job cost performance and profitability.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and consultants on-site.
- Attend construction meetings and prepare reports or updates as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
*Qualifications & Skills*
*Required*:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in landscape, construction or related field project management/supervision.
- Good understanding of grading, hardscaping, planting, irrigation, drainage, and lighting systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in or able to learn business software
-Possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable on company's insurance policy
*Preferred*:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Construction, Horticulture, or a related field.
- OSHA 10/30 Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- equipment operation experience.
