- 15 plus years of relevant experience required, with no less than 5 years of experience in a managerial role
- 5 plus years of LNG experience required
- Gulf Coast experience preferred
Position Summary:
Commonwealth LNG is seeking a leader to join us as a Manager, Construction. The Manager, Construction is responsible for management of all construction safety, planning, and field activities in support of the project objectives. This position will be located on Site (Louisiana) and will be initially responsible for early works.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure Safety is the paramount priority when planning and executing all construction activities.
- Manage contractor’s project team by providing communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood during execution of works
- Safety – Responsible for CWLNG personal safety and contractor’s safe working practices. Understand and ensure HSSE procedures are followed by all personnel working on site.
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for making sure contractor are working within the provisions and guidelines of their Quality Management Systems relevant to their scope of work, contractor’s testing and inspection activities, and verify reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.
- For early works:
- Arrange, coordinate, and oversee technical inspections such as electrical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, and asphalt mixes, and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
- Allocate inspection resources and supervise inspectors.
- Provide field construction assistance and problem solving based on previous experience.
- Understand industry standards, applicable regulatory codes and requirements, and company standards.
- Report on project status, performance, constraints and issues to Senior Management.
- Directly responsible for the coordination of work activities performed by EPC contractors and other Owner’s contractors

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Science or a relevant field required

- High commitment to the HSSE processes and understanding of the importance they have on the long term success of the project and asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good organizational skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priorities changes occur
- Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance on planning and scheduling.
- Have the ability to read and interpret engineer drawings to include P&IDs, Civil/Structural plans and details, Electrical wiring diagrams, Piping isometrics, etcetera.
- Broad knowledge of Codes, Standards, and Industry Best Practices.
- Ability to analyze project schedules and related reports and provide input towards optimization
- Have advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.
