Position Summary: The Manager of Construction will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects across the company’s portfolio. This role requires a blend of technical construction knowledge, vendor management skills, budget control expertise, and an ability to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all phases of construction for new fitness club locations, remodels, and expansions. Oversee site selection due diligence in collaboration with real estate and design teams. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure design alignment with brand standards. Select, negotiate with, and manage general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and schedules to meet financial and operational goals. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocols. Review and approve construction drawings, change orders, and invoices. Collaborate with operations and facilities teams to ensure smooth handoff and operational readiness. Identify and resolve issues quickly to avoid delays or cost overruns. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred. 5+ years of construction project management experience, ideally in the retail, hospitality, or fitness industries. Proven track record of delivering multi-site projects on time and on budget. Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and permitting requirements. Exceptional organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to job sites nationwide.
