The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily field operations of mechanical crews, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related equipment. This role acts as a critical link between the field workforce and site leadership, coordinating manpower, tools, and materials to meet project goals and deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead mechanical crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide crew activities.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, material deliveries, and equipment needs.
  • Ensure work is performed according to project plans, codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed to complete critical tasks or address issues.
  • Monitor and report crew attendance, productivity, and work quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site and enforce proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Superintendent and other trade foremen to coordinate work sequencing and resolve conflicts.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to build a strong, productive team.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
  • Track material usage and request supplies as needed to avoid delays.
Requirements:

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification in mechanical systems preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical construction, with 2+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with job site safety regulations (OSHA 10/30 certification preferred).
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and in varying weather conditions as required.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites.
  • May involve standing, lifting, bending, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Requires proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
