Office Engineer (Construction Industry)

Position Summary:
The Office Engineer will play a vital role in supporting the construction management team by assisting in project documentation, coordination, and communication between various stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Cecil County, MD (Elk Neck State Park)
Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction project support, office engineering, or document control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (Procore, Autodesk, etc.).
- OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of how to operate a computer

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely communication between field and office teams.
- Support procurement activities by tracking materials, verifying deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Review construction drawings and specifications for compliance with contract requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and distribute action items.
- Assist with project scheduling, tracking milestones, and identifying potential delays.
- Utilize project management software to maintain updated records and generate reports.
- Collaborate with field engineers and project managers to resolve construction-related issues.
- Performs varied administrative office functions as required
- Maintains contract records, plans and specifications, and related engineering and administrative records
- Prepares client invoices
- Maintains copies of project documents
- Assists with document control including filing and archiving.
- Assists the team in coordinating activities with field and office staff, contractor's representatives, and public agencies and others, as required.
- Prepares agenda for project progress-review meetings and prepares meeting minutes.
- Processes expense reports, orders, timecards etc.
- Establishes and maintains job record files for assigned projects per established procedures.
