Generate material and labor take-offs and create accurate cost estimates for bidding projects across various markets, including education, institutional, retail, hotel, corrections, government, process piping, waste and water treatment, and commercial buildings. Identify, communicate, and coordinate the scope of work to request pricing from subcontractors and vendors. Evaluate bids received for completeness and compliance. Price materials and estimate labor, extending detailed cost estimates in Microsoft Excel. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience as a Commercial Plumbing Estimator and/or a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Ability to comprehend engineers specifications and interpret construction drawings, including Architectural, Mechanical, and Plumbing layouts. Understanding of various pipe joining methodologies, including but not limited to screwed, flanged, MJ, grooved, welded, brazed, soldered joints, and compression fittings. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective communication skills with team members, vendors, and customers. Perform estimating duties from project initiation to the start of construction, including creating and maintaining organized estimate files, understanding project scope, soliciting bids, and attending site visits if possible.
