Job Overview
Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Management at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position.
Essential Functions
Conduct research in the areas of flood protection infrastructure and advanced sensing technologies for civil and geotechnical engineering.
Assist in the development and writing of research proposals for external funding in the areas related to geotechnical engineering.
Prepare technical reports and publications; disseminate study results and research findings in journals and conferences.
Perform advanced computational modeling using finite difference and discrete element modeling programs.
Perform advanced AI/machine learning, and data analysis using MATLAB or Python.
Provide technical assistance on related research projects, such as preparing progress presentations and reports for funding agencies.
Required Education
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Required Experience
Six (6) journal publications related to computational modeling and/or machine learning related to geotechnical engineering
Proficiency in Python in Itasca Software as evidenced by one completed course or certificate
