The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for administering pre-construction services for wind projects starting in the early to mid-development phase and/or repower projects through the start of construction. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure all pre-construction projects, budgets, and processes are in conformity with Geronimo Power’s established policies and objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

· Manage the development and review of the preliminary wind engineering designs, from both internal and external resources

· Be the wind technical SME for the Company providing guidance to all internal stakeholders

· Manage wind project optimization with Energy Modeling, Development, Financial Modeling, and Procurement groups to develop the optimal project design

· Coordinate with Estimating for project budgeting for all wind projects

· Provide support to internal teams for customer RFP (request for proposal) responses

· Evaluate EPC and turbine bids for both compliance with RFP requirements and selecting the optimal vendor or technology

· Support both EPC and equipment contracting negotiations

· Support Development with landowner discussions for design considerations

· Coordinate with HV engineering for substation and transmission considerations

· Representing Geronimo Power and/or renewable energy at appropriate industry conferences and stakeholder meetings, participating in discussions and providing comments if needed

· Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years in engineering and/or construction.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with wind project development and design
  • Advanced knowledge of wind project development

· Understanding of EPC and turbine contracts

· Proven ability to organize and manage several projects at various stages of development

· Excellent knowledge of construction concepts and practices

· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

· Proficiency in using programs such as Microsoft Office, Procore, AutoCAD, and database management systems

· Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
