Job Description – Project Manager (Agricultural Construction)
Location: Onsite in Nevada, Iowa
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 base salary (depending on experience)
Role Overview
The Project Manager will lead agricultural construction projects from initiation through closeout, overseeing site-level activities, subcontractor coordination, schedule control, and budget management. This individual will interact with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project execution. This is a hands-on role in a family-owned, fast-growing company offering long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead greenfield and retrofit construction projects from planning through completion
- Coordinate with clients and other parts of the business to develop project scopes and schedules
- Partner with internal functions: Procurement, Drafting, Site Superintendents, Safety, AR/AP, and Legal
- Use Acumatica ERP for project scheduling, change tracking, procurement, and reporting
- Conduct weekly project meetings with clients, engineers, and contractors to review progress and resolve issues
- Ensure daily jobsite safety and compliance using assessments, toolbox talks, and sign-off forms
- Manage and document change orders, project delays, and work milestones
- Perform site visits as needed (approx. 80% onsite in Nevada, IA, 20% travel using company-provided aircraft)
- Close out projects with formal punch list walkthrough and documentation
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in agricultural construction
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment installation, and field coordination
- Experience in both new build and refurbish/retrofit environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Project); Acumatica experience is a plus
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Agriculture, Construction, Engineering, or related)
- Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills
- Self-starter who thrives in entrepreneurial, fast-moving environments
- Willingness to work onsite in Nevada, IA with minimal relocation support
