Overview:
The Project Manager III manages all aspects of one or more medium to large-sized projects across construction, commercial, oilfield, and environmental sectors. Responsibilities include overseeing the full project lifecycle from initial planning through execution. The Project Manager supervises Level I and II Project Managers and support staff, with authority to assign tasks impacting budgets, planning, and procedures. This role reports to the General Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops detailed project estimates and proposals.
Prepares subcontractor bid packages and evaluates responses.
Oversees field activities and ensures safety compliance.
Manages permitting processes to facilitate project progress.
Produces reports and schedules to monitor project performance.
Purchases and coordinates shipping of materials.
Reviews subcontractor quotes, submittals, and shop drawings for compliance.
Prepares project documentation as required by contracts and management.
Implements best practices in project processes.
Ensures QA/QC standards are met on projects.
Participates in safety programs and enforces safety protocols on site.
Supports other company subsidiaries as needed.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages project teams, including lower-tier project managers, support staff, and subcontractors, ensuring project success.
Education and Experience:
Postsecondary education in engineering or a technical field; experience considered in lieu of education.
10-15 years of project management experience, particularly with medium to large commercial, oilfield, and environmental projects.
Experience with permitting and established relationships with agencies like COE, BLM, ADEC.
Proficiency with Primavera scheduling software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and lead teams toward successful project outcomes.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
PMP certification required.
Professional Engineer license preferred.
Alaska driver’s license required.
Security Clearance:
Not required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, sit, handle objects, operate equipment, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and communicate effectively. May need to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment:
Primarily office setting with some travel required.
