Michael Kinder and Sons, a fourth- family-owned Design-Build Construction Firm, is seeking a skilled Project Manager with at least five years of commercial construction experience. This role involves managing projects from concept to completion, balancing office and field responsibilities to ensure quality results and customer satisfaction. POSITION LOCATION & DURATION
This is a full-time, Onsite Project Manager position based at a jobsite in Upland, Indiana. The role is dedicated to a specific construction project that is expected to last approximately two (2) years.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading all onsite operations throughout the duration of the project.
Continued employment beyond the completion of this project will be evaluated based on business needs, available opportunities, and performance during the assignment. While this is a full-time role, it is directly tied to the lifecycle of the Upland project.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
Lead the overall management of construction projects, from conceptual design through closeout, ensuring alignment with objectives and client expectations.
Establish and implement project goals, work plans, and assignments collaboratively with the Senior Project Manager.
Oversee the execution of project milestones by integrating schedules, resource planning, and input from the Project Superintendent.
Proactively manage and resolve challenges, including subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
Planning and Coordination
Strategically develop and execute project logistics, staging plans, and schedules to optimize resource use and minimize risks.
Facilitate and lead key project meetings such as Preconstruction Turnover, Kick-Off, Progress Updates, and Turnover-Commissioning, ensuring actionable follow-ups.
Oversee the procurement process, ensuring subcontractor and material purchases align with budget and project goals while mitigating potential conflicts.
Financial Oversight
Manage project accounting processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly cost reporting, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Review, issue, and monitor subcontract awards and supplier purchase orders, aligning them with project cost structures.
Continuously assess project financials, including labor, material, and equipment costs, to forecast profitability and manage risks effectively.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
Foster clear, consistent communication with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to align objectives and manage expectations.
Cultivate strong client relationships, leveraging insights and referrals to identify and pursue future project opportunities.
Ensure client satisfaction through proactive issue resolution, timely updates, and exceptional service delivery.
Safety, Compliance, and Documentation
Enforce and uphold safety standards and legal regulations to maintain a secure and compliant workspace.
Ensure all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders, is accurate, complete, and properly archived.
Integrate safety protocols into project planning and execution, creating a culture of accountability and proactive risk management.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education | Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree
Commercial-Industrial Construction and Project Management | 5+yrs
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
Ability to implement and follow Company policies, procedures and standards is essential
Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required
SKILLS
Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore & Timberline
