Property Maintenance and Construction Supervisor Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supervising work program participants (addiction treatment center clients), scheduling, budgeting, and completing property maintenance and construction projects, connecting clients to long-term employment and assisting in the development and implementation of vocational training programs.
Job Duties:
Supervises work program participants as they complete property maintenance and construction projects both on-site at the treatment center and off-site Instructs and trains work program participants by building effective, appropriate and supportive relationships through managing them in a proactive manner Teaches work program participants soft skills such as work ethic, appropriate work behaviors, time management and dealing with conflict.
Responsible for setting and adhering to project budgets and timelines, ordering materials, and prioritizing projects Trains clients on a variety of property and facility maintenance and construction skills Teaches program participants how to work with power tools and hand tools and operate equipment in a safe and productive manner. Observe client's sobriety wellness and provide encouragement to clients regarding their treatment, transition, and aftercare goals. Conducts outreach to secure property maintenance and basic construction jobs for work program participants Connects program graduates to local employers for permanent employment Organizes and oversees work program project schedules Conducts weekly performance evaluations for work program participants that includes an evaluation on the progress program participants are making toward that are timely and constructive.
Tracks number of hours worked by each work program participant Submits weekly performance evaluation score, hours worked, and incentive earned to Finance Director for processing incentive payments Handles discipline of work program participants where necessary and coordinates with Program and Recovery Support Directors to develop corrective action plans to ensure work program participants are successful Works with Administrative Director to assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
