Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager with a minimum of 7 years in construction quality management. The Quality Control Manager will oversee all quality control processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of construction practices, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
Location : Elk Neck State Park, Cecil County, North East, MD. No relocation assistance is provided.
Education : B.S. Construction, Engineering or related degree and/or experience preferred. Substantial experience may be substituted for education.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality control/assurance within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices .
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, project specifications, and technical drawings.
Experience with construction quality management software (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, or similar tools).
Familiarity with federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with project stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
In charge of implementing and managing the QC Program
Conduct inspections, audits, and quality assurance assessments to ensure project compliance.
Monitor subcontractor work to ensure adherence to quality specifications
Identify non-conformance issues, implement corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution
Attend the QC Plan Meeting
Attend the Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting
Conduct the QC meetings
Perform the 3-Phases of Quality Control
Complete all documentation accurately and timely
Perform submittal review and approval
Ensure testing is performed and provide required QC certifications and documentation
Responsible for managing and coordinating the Phases Control and documentation performed by Testing Laboratory personnel if necessary
Access confined space
Access heights
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Must have the ability to work on uneven surfaces, heights, and in confined spaces.
Frequent standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet.
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl occasionally.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to include but limited to, wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
Must be able to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height.

OSHA-10 - Required
OSHA-30 - Highly Desired
Certified Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) certified thru U.S. Army Corps of Engineers / NAVFAC) - Required
Background check and drug screen panel are required for this position
Random drug screens are periodic and administered without advanced notice
