The Center for Smart, Sustainable & Resilient Infrastructure (CSSRI) at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Management invites applications for a Research Associate position.
Essential Functions
Conduct research in the areas of transportation infrastructure evaluation and pavement analysis with the aim of making the infrastructure safer and more economical.
Assist in the development and writing of research proposals for external funding in the area of transportation infrastructure.
Prepare technical reports and publications; disseminate study results and research findings in journals and professional meetings; present at technical conferences and seminars.
Perform analysis on big data obtained from different research projects using Python or C++.
Provide technical assistance on related research projects, such as preparing monthly progress presentations for funding agencies.
Required Education
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Required Experience
Six (6) journal publications related to transportation infrastructure evaluation and pavement analysis, which involved the analysis of big data
Two (2) published reports focused on transportation infrastructure evaluation and one published report on pavement analysis
Proficiency in Python or C++ as evidenced by one (1) completed course or certificate
