We are currently expanding and seeking a Survey Supply and Construction Instrument Sales Associate to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter looking to build or grow a career in sales, especially someone interested in the surveying and construction industries and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
Position Summary:
The Sales Associate will be responsible for increasing revenue by prospecting, developing, and closing new business, including product delivery as needed, as well as expanding relationships with existing customers. The focus will be on survey supplies (stakes, paint, flagging, etc.), accessories (tripods, prism poles, leveling rods, etc.), and construction instruments (rotating lasers, pipe lasers, optical levels, etc.). Target customers include surveying and engineering firms, civil and highway contractors, sitework and utility contractors, concrete contractors, general contractors, and other surveying & construction entities.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with new and existing customers; assess needs and provide customized solutions. Market Awareness: Stay up to date with industry trends, customer challenges, and competitor offerings to adjust sales strategies accordingly. Lead Generation: Actively pursue new opportunities through research, cold calls, site visits, jobsite visits, referrals, networking, trade shows, and industry events. Sales Planning: Develop and execute sales strategies, approaches, and account planning to gain market share. Product Knowledge: Understand the technical features and benefits of all products to effectively answer questions and assist customers. Quoting & Proposals: Create accurate proposals and price quotes tailored to each customer's requirements. Order Processing & Fulfillment: Use our ERP system for order entry & processing; delivery of products locally as needed. Company vehicle provided. Post-Sale Support: Ensure long-term satisfaction through follow-ups, issue resolution, and relationship management. Team Collaboration: Partner with product managers, sales teammates, and local branch staff to align efforts and maximize success. Reporting: Maintain CRM records, sales activity logs, pipelines, and forecasts. Professional Growth: Commit to ongoing learning of products and sales skills through company-provided training. Team Culture: Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment where the customer's needs come first. Cross-Selling: Collaborate with other Duncan-Parnell teams and departments to identify and pursue additional opportunities. Other Duties: Perform related tasks and projects as assigned by management. Qualifications: Self-motivated, dependable, and results-driven with a strong work ethic Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, courteous demeanor Customer-focused with a commitment to providing outstanding service Highly organized with effective time management and follow-up skills Eager and able to learn new concepts and technical product knowledge Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
