The Sales Manager plays a critical role in aligning client needs with our most impactful products, driving revenue, and ensuring long-term customer success. This is a consultative sales role, working with a mix of emerging and top-tier global accounts and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of global accounts
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships throughout the year
Ensure client satisfaction, renewal, and growth
Understand client goals and propose tailored solutions
Represent the brand at client meetings, events, and competitor shows
Sales Strategy & Execution
Align client needs with the most relevant and valuable product offerings
Develop and articulate compelling, customized value propositions
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
Meet and exceed revenue targets through strategic planning and execution
Drive repeat business by delivering impactful results and value
Team Leadership
Lead and support account management team members
Foster a collaborative, future-focused environment
Provide coaching and guidance to enhance team performance
Encourage transparency, innovation, and shared success
Market Awareness
Stay up to date on industry trends and market dynamics
Read trade publications, monitor competitors, and engage with social media
Position yourself as a knowledgeable resource and trusted advisor to clients
Travel Requirements
Attend industry events, competitor shows, and face-to-face client meetings as needed
Represent the company in external environments beyond event-specific activity

Qualifications
Track and report weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales activity and progress
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to meet or exceed revenue targets
Manage and grow a designated sales territory while maintaining key account relationships
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities including untapped markets, customer segments, and potential partnerships
Understand and map customer needs, pain points, and goals to effectively position product and service solutions
Analyze customer buying behavior and trends to inform sales strategies
Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and revenue projections to senior leadership
Collaborate with the Show Director on revenue planning, new sales initiatives, and sponsorship programming
Work closely with the Conference Manager and Marketing Manager to align sponsorship and paid content plans
Contribute to the ideation and development of new, integrated product offerings that combine event and digital assets
Partner with the Marketing Manager and Show Director to define marketing needs that support sales goals
Lead or support people management responsibilities with HR, including recruitment, performance management, talent development, and budgeting
