Position Summary:
As a Sales Representative – Bypass Pumping & Civil Construction, you will be responsible for driving business development and revenue growth within your assigned territory. Your focus will be on identifying, quoting, and securing projects related to sewer bypass, stormwater diversion, and other fluid management needs in the civil construction sector. You will serve as a technical advisor and trusted partner to contractors, municipalities, and engineering firms, ensuring Mersino delivers high-performance solutions with superior customer satisfaction.
You will own the full sales cycle — from lead generation and bid preparation to project coordination and post-project follow-up — ensuring each job is executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify and pursue opportunities in bypass pumping and civil construction markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, municipalities, and engineering firms.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits, and develop tailored solutions for complex fluid management challenges.
- Prepare and present detailed project quotes and proposals.
- Secure contracts and change orders, ensuring scope clarity and profitability.
- Project Coordination & Customer Support
- Coordinate with operations and field crews to ensure timely mobilization and quality execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, issues, and emergencies with professionalism and urgency.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations on all job sites.
- Territory & Market Management
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through cold calling, networking, and CRM management.
- Monitor local bid/spec markets and industry trends to stay ahead of competitors.
- Develop and execute quarterly business plans and sales strategies.
- Represent Mersino at industry events, trade shows, and association meetings.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in sales or project management within bypass pumping or civil construction.
- Strong understanding of pump systems, sewer bypass operations, and construction site logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to visit and inspect active construction sites.
- Capable of lifting and handling equipment or materials as needed.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
