Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and assist with project cost tracking. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction accounting principles and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Track and analyze job costs, budgets, and project profitability
- Assist with variance analysis
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP
- Additional projects as needed
- Maintain Business licenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficiency in construction ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore). Experience with Vista/Viewpoint preferred
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Self starter
