Position Overview
MNS is looking to add a Senior Construction Manager to our growing Construction Management - Water Resources Team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale water and wastewater treatment plant projects, ideally including advanced water purification related projects. We're looking for someone who has successfully overseen projects valued at $100 million or more and thrives in leading complex, multi-year efforts.
This role is in-person. Applicants must be within a commutable distance from, live in, or be willing to relocate to the Ventura, California area. It will launch with a significant project and plays a critical role in our long-term strategy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General
Prepares construction management (CM) scopes and determines level of effort for CM execution
Manages CM contract and budget with client and is responsible for meeting client needs and project profitability
Manages all aspects associated with the construction administration of a large project or program
Tracks and monitors construction expenditures, prepares spending forecasts
Reviews, verifies, processes, and recommends approval for contractor progress payment applications
Conducts site meetings dealing with contractor work progress, schedule, coordination, record drawing and problem exposure and resolution meetings
Resolves issues arising from the inspection process or from contract administration
Directs activities of Structure Representatives and Resident Engineer on project site
Manages all aspects of construction management budget
Conducts staff planning and scheduling of all the onsite staff and staff that come to the site on an intermittent basis; schedules surveyors and testing laboratories as necessary
Serves as lead administrator of the field office on all projects under limited supervision
Works with clients and Engineering Team to modify plans and specifications to optimize construction execution
Assists with recruitment and conducts job performance evaluations
Supports project Business Development, Marketing, and Pursuit efforts
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum one, preferably a combination, of the following are required: Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or California registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver's record are required
Minimum Experience Required 12+ years construction contract management
Desired Construction management Experience
We are seeking candidates with experience in some of the following areas. While not every item is required, experience in a combination of these areas will be highly valued: Large diameter sewer and water pipeline, including trenchless installations
Water and wastewater treatment plants, including membrane filtration technology
Sewer lift stations
Booster pump stations
Groundwater wells
Stormwater diversion, capture, and treatment
Flood control infrastructure
SCADA installation, integration, and startup commissioning
Other Required Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills
Interacts well with other staff
Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments
Able to represent client in claims meetings
Able to market and interface well with clients
Able to effectively manage people
Salary Description
$210,000 to $230,000 annual
