Senior Construction Project Engineer

RK&K is excited to be hiring for a new role in North Florida. We are hiring a Senior Construction Project Engineer (P.E.) to join our Construction, Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team. As a Senior Construction Project Engineer, you will work within our Construction Management group under the direction of an RK&K Director or Construction Manager and will provide on-site technical and administrative supervision of transportation construction projects. Essential Functions Oversees and assigns tasks to administrative staff, contract support specialists, and inspectors. Exercises initiative and independent judgment in solving work problems. Oversees all phases of construction projects. Responsible for progress and final estimates during the project. Performs internal quality assurance reviews to promote contract compliance and evaluate CEI staff. Communicates effectively with all project stakeholders and clients. Leads efforts to identify, market, and secure upcoming work assignments from various clients in South Florida. Establishes and maintains relationships with clients, including governmental and private entities. Responsible for directing complex construction engineering administration and inspection programs. Responsible for planning and organizing the work of staff and subordinates. Develops and reviews policies, methods, practices, and procedures. Reviews programs for conformance with FDOT standards. Required Skills and Experience Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida. Ability to obtain Florida endorsement within six months if registered in another state. Minimum of six years of engineering experience in major road and bridge construction. At least two years involved in transportation projects; five years for Complex Category 2 and PTS bridge structures. A Master's Degree in Engineering may substitute for one year of experience. Experience with Florida project administration, including MAC, AASHTOWare PrC, EEO compliance, and related tasks. Familiarity with FDOT specifications and procedures. Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written). Required Education and Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or similar). FDOT Advanced MOT certification. Attendance and passing the CTQP Quality Control Manager Course exam. Completion of the Critical Structures Construction Issues Self-Study Course. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience supporting FDOT and/or local municipal/county construction programs. CTQP Final Estimates Level 1 and 2 certifications.
