Position Overview
The Senior Counsel - Commercial Litigation will be responsible for managing and overseeing complex commercial litigation matters, with a focus on construction defect cases. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in litigation and a proven track record in federal court. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure effective legal representation and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee commercial litigation cases, particularly in construction defect matters.
Develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
Draft and review legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
Represent clients in federal and state court proceedings.
Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams to provide legal guidance on commercial matters.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations impacting commercial litigation.
Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial litigation, with a focus on construction defects.
Proven experience in federal court litigation.
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
