Senior Estimator (High-End Residential Construction)

Essex Homes is a leading residential semi-custom home builder based in western New York. The Senior Estimator will play a key role in the pre-construction process. Preparing accurate cost estimates for residential semi-custom homes. This individual will work closely with our design, sales and construction teams using BuilderTrend to manage estimates and streamline workflows

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed cost estimates for semi-custom residential home projects based on architectural plans, specifications, and design options.

Collaborate with the design and sales team to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery of proposals.

Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.

Maintain and update cost databases within Builder Trend to reflect current market pricing and vendor rates.

Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or design integrity.

Provide support for budgeting, change order pricing and contract negotiations.

Continue to build out the Builder Trend software package to improve internal efficiencies,

Lead and mentor junior estimators as needed.

Qualifications:

5 or more years of residential estimating experience, preferably in custom or semi-custom homebuilding.

Proficiency in BuilderTrend and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) software applications is required

Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, methods, and market pricing

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Ability to lead and manage other team members

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is

Full time position

Competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
