Job Description

Key responsibilities of the Senior Project Engineer - Public Works Construction Work closely with project managers and field teams to coordinate all aspects of building and construction, ensuring school projects are delivered on time and within budget. Take a lead role in managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders to keep documentation accurate and up to date. Support preconstruction tasks such as estimating, bidding, and value engineering, particularly on a growing pipeline of K-12 and higher education projects driven by newly passed funding measures. Ensure all work complies with project plans, specs, and DSA requirements through detailed review and proactive problem-solving. Collaborate with superintendents and subcontractors daily to maintain quality control, safety standards, and effective communication on-site. The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Engineer - Public Works Construction candidate will have: Proven experience supporting commercial or public works construction projects, ideally with exposure to K-12 or higher education builds. Strong understanding of construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and scheduling tools like Procore or Bluebeam. Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively collaborate with project managers, superintendents, architects, and subcontractors. Detail-oriented and proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
