About Us: We have a leading civil construction company specializing in heavy civil, sitework, utilities, and infrastructure projects. Our team is growing, and we are seeking a skilled Shop Foreman to oversee our equipment and vehicle fleet to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. Position Summary: The Shop Foreman will be responsible for supervising daily operations of the equipment shop, managing mechanics and technicians, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance, and ensuring all machinery and vehicles are compliant, safe, and field-ready. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and experience in civil construction equipment. Responsibilities: Supervise, schedule, and direct shop personnel and field service operations
Oversee maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and small tools
Coordinate equipment inspections, diagnostics, and parts inventory
Track and manage service logs, work orders, and downtime records
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Communicate with project managers and field superintendents on equipment needs
Mentor junior mechanics and lead by example with a strong safety mindset
Requirements: 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction or equipment maintenance
Proven supervisory or foreman experience in a shop or fleet environment
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
Proficiency with fleet management software (preferred)
Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus
