The AES Operations team is looking for a Solar & BESS Technician I . This individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operates the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best-practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have the ability to take direction from Field Service leads. As AES CE grows to become one of the leading IPPs in the industry, this role will provide an unparalleled opportunity for professional growth.
This position will be based in Lancaster, CA
Main Responsibilities: Replicate and complete work tasks to improve field processes and track repair times
Work closely with members of the team to provide field technician feedback to the service teams
Work safely and in accordance with company and industry standard safety requirements
Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and other team members
Organize and maintain files, drawings, and other documentation processes
Order and coordinate materials and services necessary for the repair, maintenance, and construction of systems
Perform required preventive maintenance activities to maintain warranty coverage
Respond to corrective maintenance cases and updating case logs accurately
Work closely with other members of the team to and provide data where requested
Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables
Respond to customers’ concerns with the performance or functionality of their system
Ensure the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company issued property are well-kept
Experience and Skills Trades experience in electrical is preferred
Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift heavy objects and work on your feet for long periods of time
Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interpret engineering and schematic drawings
Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to solar PV installations, and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices
Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications ( e.g. time tracking, case management, etc.).
Ability to travel
Must have and maintain a valid license and an acceptable and safe driving record
Qualifications Preferred industry experience in installing, maintaining , and troubleshooting battery storage systems, electric vehicle charging stations or solar PV systems
