About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of a high-profile construction program in New York City. This role involves direct engagement with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects-on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This is a hands-on leadership role best suited for a proven construction professional with experience on large-scale public or private sector projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and participate in weekly construction meetings with project stakeholders.
Oversee and support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
Review contractor pay applications and make payment recommendations.
Evaluate contractor change order requests and support approval processes.
Assist in the development and maintenance of cost reports.
Coordinate punch list activities and ensure timely project closeout.
Enforce adherence to project schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with safety management plans, quality control plans, and local building codes and permits.
Collaborate closely with project leadership and design teams to resolve field issues effectively.
Support procurement efforts and contractor selection.
Maintain accurate and complete contract documentation and reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of construction supervisory experience (or 4 years with a relevant degree).
Strong knowledge of project management practices and construction administration.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Ground-up construction experience is essential.
Experience working with construction management software platforms (e.g., Procore, eBuilder, or similar).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, and general IT systems.
Experience coordinating and documenting meetings, agendas, and minutes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing or supporting building programs with budgets of $100M+.
Background in sports, recreation, hospitality, or civic projects is a plus.
Ideal for candidates who have served as a #2 on major projects and are ready to step into a lead role.
Experience acting as an owner's representative or client-side construction manager on complex programs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $74.51/hr.
