Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Sr. Construction Manager oversees and coordinates activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. Engages in the conceptual development of construction projects, overseeing their organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Job Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to ensure deadlines are met. Create, compile, and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking documentation. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to owner or developer representatives, including administrative staff, workers, or clients. Direct and supervise construction or related personnel. Draft contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors. Consult with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to address and resolve issues such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. Plan, coordinate, or oversee activities related to the construction of buildings, facilities, or systems. Analyze job specifications to identify suitable construction methodologies. Conduct thorough inspections and reviews of projects to ensure adherence to building and safety codes, as well as other pertinent regulations. Investigate construction site issues to ensure proper procedures are followed. Develop and implement revised plans to address delays, adverse weather conditions, or emergencies on construction sites. Develop and execute quality control programs. Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects. Assess labor needs for worker dispatch to construction sites. Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations. Conduct, or engage third parties to conduct, preliminary assessments prior to construction. These include conceptual cost estimation, rough order of magnitude estimation, feasibility studies, as well as energy efficiency, environmental impact, and sustainability evaluations. Develop or implement environmental protection programs. Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses. Evaluate construction techniques and analyze the cost-efficiency of plans utilizing computer simulations. Skill Requirements: Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications. Skilled in effective communication. Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to change. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and consistently meets deadlines. Able to complete tasks independently and take initiative.
