Position Summary The Superintendent is the on-site leader for residential rehabilitation and reconstruction projects, ensuring that work is performed safely, to specification, and on schedule. This position requires a hands-on manager who can oversee subcontractor crews, coordinate daily activities, and serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners during construction.
The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, skilled in problem-solving, and comfortable enforcing quality standards in a field environment.
Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations at assigned construction sites. Coordinate and schedule subcontractor activities to ensure steady progress. Communicate with homeowners on-site to address questions and concerns. Monitor safety compliance and enforce site safety rules. Review and implement project plans, specifications, and schedules. Identify and resolve construction issues in coordination with the Construction Manager and Project Manager. Track punch-list items and drive completion for project closeout.
Qualifications 3+ years of field supervision in residential construction. Familiarity with federally funded housing programs (FEMA, HUD, CDBG-DR) preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction documents. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office; mobile field software experience preferred. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with homeowners, crews, and clients.
