Job Summary
This position is responsible for directly leading/managing multiple high visibility capital projects across the Nuclear NSS/SLR implementation group while supervising construction professionals and providing oversight to supplemental workers and other professional staff in the completion of projects. This role also provides overall strategic direction, management, and planning for SLR projects and the project management processes. Manages scope, schedule and budget for large, high profile nuclear construction or compliance projects. Responsible for safety, cost, schedule, scope, resource management, installation, technical issues, and construction implementation leadership. As supervisor, oversees the activities of assigned employees to ensure quality performance and adequate staffing to meet and/or exceed project targets, financial targets, compliance goals, company goals and strategic direction. Responsible for training, development and performance evaluations of their staff and may participate with the Superintendent in hiring new or replacement staff in the department.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
7+ years of relevant experience in directly related field (with preferred Bachelor’s degree). In lieu of preferred Bachelor’s degree, may substitute related Associate’s degree and 9+ years directly related experience or High School diploma/GED and 11+ years directly related experience.
Relevant experience may be Design Engineering, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, construction/projects experience which may include hands on project management experience in a particular craft (civil, mechanical, welding, etc.), or documented experience in the planning and/or supervising of implementation of construction projects.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil design, procedures and codes;
In-depth knowledge of processes and procedures required to implement physical modifications to the facility;
Strong construction/projects experience;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Strong organizational skills;
Computer proficiency including PAMS, SAP, Doc-Top, Microsoft Office and P6;
Strong proven leadership skills. Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor Preferred Disciplines: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above
