Please note : This position can work a hybrid remote schedule, with some Portland in-office time needed occasionally, but remote the majority of time. Also, new hires are required to come to our home office in Perrysburg, OH for initial orientation and training for 1 week, paid.
Technical Solutions Specialist : Understand and anticipate customer needs, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of the project. Collaborate across customer teams, internal teams, and external partners to ensure the technical aspects of the project are progressing as planned during the entire project lifecycle. Serve as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and landowners by receiving and translating client requests into actionable tasks, conducting field assessments, resolving issues, and coordinating with internal teams or clients for effective project execution. Solving construction issues in field, exercising ability to receive questions or concerns, asses issue and provide, advise and implement solutions. Be available for travel and fieldwork, being able to attend on-site field meetings to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members and clients as needed. Coordinate technical aspects of projects, specifically in the design and construction phases. Identify and mitigate risks associated with technical projects. Maintain detailed records of technical decisions, customer communications, and field activities. Prepare status reports as requested. Manage incoming correspondence including emails, phone calls with team, client, jurisdictions and public. Owning the appropriate action for resolution. Ensure solutions meet regulatory standards by maintaining knowledge of the NEC and NESC electrical codes. Read and interpret construction standards as defined by the power company. Exercise discretion and independent judgement in managing tasks and decision making. Proactively identify potential technical issues and work with the team and customers to resolve them effectively by providing solutions, ensuring the project stays on track.
Requirements:
Education & Experience Requirements: Education Requirements - Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience with engineering and line construction operations. Technical Expertise - strong understanding of design, electrical construction, and the limitations that can arise during implementation Customer Facing Experience, with proven ability to work directly with customers in a professional and confident manner, addressing their needs and concerns effectively and effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to articulate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clients, and manage multiple tasks Available during the core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday-Friday, and occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. Willing and able to travel regularly, including some overnight travel.
Dependable transportation and valid driver's license, and car insurance that meets Sigma's minimum requirements Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check. Computer literate especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements: Must be able to endure frequent/lengthy: Driving, standing, walking long distances (5 miles or more in a day), navigating rough terrain on foot and lifting/balancing objects that may weigh up to 20 lbs. and require the use of upper extremities and back muscles; work in proximity to moving vehicles in the right of way. Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time. Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting. Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
