Traveling Superintendent, Healthcare Construction

Position Summary:
A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent with a strong background in ground-up healthcare construction . This position is based in the Southeastern United States and involves regular travel to project sites across the region. The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including AHCA regulations, infection control, and coordination with healthcare systems and medical equipment vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all on-site construction activities for ground-up healthcare projects from pre-construction through project completion.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality and regulatory standards.
Coordinate and supervise daily activities of subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
Implement and enforce job site safety procedures and collaborate with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain effective communication and relationships with clients, inspectors, architects, and engineers.
Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulations, including AHCA, ICRA, and Joint Commission guidelines.
Coordinate site logistics, materials, schedules, and staffing to maintain workflow and minimize delays.
Track project progress and report regularly on schedule, issues, and key milestones.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5–7 years of superintendent experience, with a strong emphasis on ground-up healthcare construction .
Experience managing projects ranging from $5M to $50M.
Willingness and availability to travel throughout the Southeast U.S. on a full-time basis.
In-depth knowledge of AHCA, NFPA, ICRA, and other healthcare construction standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
OSHA 30-hour certification required; CPR/First Aid certification .
Proficient in construction management software including Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and scheduling platforms (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project).
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field .
