VDC Manager – Commercial
Skills and Experience: The BIM Project Manager assists and supports multiple Project Managers and Lead Superintendents on assigned projects. The position works with limited supervision, performs complex analysis of upcoming activities and gathers and distributes information. The qualified individual must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. The individual needs to have used BIM processes in managing projects in the past.
Requirements: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture
5-10 years of industry experience
Dependability
Computer proficiency including Microsoft suite of products
Experience with clash detection, 4D and or model creation
Broad understanding of the construction industry
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Basic math/accounting skills
Functions effectively as part of a team
Time management skills and organizational skills
Ability to read drawings and specifications
Familiar with Primavera Scheduling software Essential Job Duties: Federate multiple BIM models
Communicate any conflicts between design models and trade partner models
Facilitate solutions within the project team and disseminate that amongst all involved parties
Assists with various reports regarding financial performance of the project
Assist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required
Attend and/or leads project meetings, as directed by Project Executive and navigate models in meetings
Lead and/or complete project close-out including Project Model deliverable
Assist in the review of Trade Contractor monthly payment applications
Coordinate monthly Trade Contractor payments with schedule updates
Assist in coordinating electronic punch list items and procedures using tablets in the field
Perform quality control inspections and track via QA/QC software
Setup initial contracts and project information including BIM scope
Resolving design coordination issues using model based clash detection
Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs and submittals
Review construction models and generate RFIs for missing information
Assist in management of project permit process
Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement including BIM addendum
Identify long lead items and establish procurement priorities
Review and Update 4D construction schedule based on project team input
Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders, often using models for visualization of changes
Track and inspect material deliveries Key Markets: Healthcare
