The Head of Construction will be the team lead for the construction organization managing a large volume of coast-to-coast pre-construction and construction activities. The person will have direct management of the full construction team of project engineers and project managers.ResponsibilitiesStrategic partnerships with all contractors, vendors, and suppliersManage the full life cycle of all construction activities including pre-construction, bidding and contracting, site construction activities, equipment delivery, acceptance and commissioningWorking closely with the Real Estate, Development, Energy and Utility, Hardware and Electrical Systems teams to deliver a cohesive and integrated overall project deliveryWork closely with the Real Estate and Development teams on project budgeting. Provide complete and accurate costs at each step of the budgeting process for all site developmentLead project reporting with a strong emphasis on budget and schedule management.Lead the utilization of project management systems including Procore and Smartsheets. Ensure all Terawatt processes and procedures are being followedDrive the evolution of site pre-construction and construction activities to push schedule acceleration and cost reduction initiativesWork closely with the Hardware and Electrical Systems, Technology, and Operations teams on site commissioning. Maintain and execute on commissioning standards, site energization protocol, and equipment hand off processes to operationsDesired Qualifications15+ years' experience leading construction organizations with a focus on civil and energy projects.A degree in Civil, Construction, or related fields requiredA successful track record of leading national construction organizations.Extensive experience managing teams to deliver commercial successMaster of site and civil constructionExperience developing strategic partnerships that deliver advantageous agreementsExperience negotiating complex contract / MSA structures that fully protect the interest of the ownerAdvanced knowledge of utility energization for both primary and secondary electrical servicesExperience working with grants and managing grant requirements into construction contracting and executionAbility to define impacts of site / civil options during design and construction optimizing schedule and cost while delivering highly functional solutions for fleet EV charging centers.We are building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
