We're working with a fast-growing commercial electrical contractor seeking a Vice President of Operations. This executive will lead multi-state construction operations, oversee project execution, and drive strategic growth.
Ideal candidates bring senior leadership experience in commercial electrical construction, strong operational oversight skills, and a track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's business goals, ensuring efficient project execution and long-term growth across all regions of operation.
Provide executive oversight on commercial electrical construction projects throughout Texas and other U.S. markets, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop operations managers, project managers, and field personnel to drive performance, accountability, and professional growth.
Collaborate with the executive team to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, ensuring operational profitability and efficient resource allocation.
Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, workflows, and safety protocols to enhance productivity and reduce risk.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business across multiple markets.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes, OSHA standards, and other industry regulations in all regions where the company operates.
Manage relationships and performance of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure high-quality work and timely material delivery.
Identify potential project and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and safety.
Deliver regular performance reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, project updates, and operational insights to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial electrical construction, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or executive role.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, multi-state commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, project management methodologies, and industry regulations (including NEC, OSHA, and state-specific codes).
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance management in a construction environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage personnel across multiple locations.
Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel as needed to project sites across Texas and other operational regions.
