Position: Wireless Node Construction Manager
Salary: USD $48.00/hr
Location: San Diego, California, 92131 - primarily, with possible travel to other areas as needed
Schedule: Remote, home office-based role. 95% home office, 5% travel to support Field Construction Managers and attend meetings.
Expenses: Cell phone, internet, and mileage for field travel.
Summary:
Responsible for various aspects of construction and project management related to Crown Castle Small Cell node projects. This includes identifying equipment BOMs and materials, supporting vendor and general contractor selection, coordinating contractors, OEM installers, and customer representatives, managing and tracking required as-builts and close-out documents. Represent Crown Castle as the expert on issues related to the construction and modification of small cell nodes mounted on vertical assets such as streetlights, utility poles, and strands in the communication space, primarily in the public right-of-way. Oversee the safe and successful completion of multiple Small Cell upgrades and modifications, including the associated outside plant construction to support power and fiber delivery to the site. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Experience with Small Cell Node construction
High School diploma
Valid CA driver’s license
OSHA 10 Certification (training to be completed within first 2 weeks if not current)
Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience, preferably with small cells in the ROW
Knowledge of outside plant construction techniques (aerial & underground) for Small Cells and Fiber
Familiarity with RF Sweep, PIM tests, Fiber Optic OTDR/OPL testing
Knowledge of GO95, NESC, NEC, OSHA standards
Leadership experience with construction/installation crews
Experience managing multiple projects at various stages
Desirable: Fiber/copper OSP standards, copper splicing, low power over copper
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and MOPs
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; Power BI is a plus
Project management skills, including budget management
Knowledge of construction management processes and site acquisition procedures
Problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, customer service orientation
Working Conditions:
This is a remote, home office-based role. 95% work from home, 5% travel to support field operations and meetings.
