We are currently seeking a Working Foreman who is an experienced Ironworker by trade to lead our field crews on active job sites.

Position Summary

As a working structural steel construction Foreman (Ironworker) you will be responsible for supervising and working alongside ironworker crews to execute structural steel erection and installation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong trade skills, effective communication, and a deep commitment to job site safety. This role demands a safety-first mindset, proactive planning, ability to drive results as well as rigorously enforcing safety standards on every task.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and enforce EZARC's safety culture at all times, ensuring all crew members adhere to OSHA regulations and internal protocols
  • Lead a crew of Ironworkers in erecting, bolting, welding, and aligning structural steel components
  • Actively participate in daily field work including rigging, hoisting, layout, and assembly
  • Read and interpret structural blueprints, erection plans, and detail drawings
  • Ensure proper use of fall protection and lifting equipment, and verify rigging safety before lifts
  • Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks), job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site inspections
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work with the General Foreman, Superintendent and/or Project Manager
  • Monitor and coach field crew to ensure safe, productive, and high-quality work
  • Approve timecards, track progress, and report material usage and labor hours
  • Train and mentor new hires and apprentices in safety procedures and proper ironwork techniques

Qualifications

Required:

  • Journeyman-level Ironworker with at least 5 years of structural steel erection experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience on commercial or industrial projects
  • Proven track record of leading safe and productive crews
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, rigging, connecting, welding, and steel layout
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments

Preferred:

  • NCCER, AWS, or qualified rigger and signalperson certifications
  • Experience with large structural steel industrial builds
  • Familiarity with site-specific safety plans and documentation practices

Work Environment

  • Field-based, hands-on role at active construction sites
  • Exposure to outdoor weather, steel structures, heights, and heavy equipment
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting (50+ lbs), climbing, and kneeling
  • Use of all required PPE (fall protection, gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.)
