Job Description:

A leading nationwide insurance carrier is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Trial Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in handling insurance defense litigation, particularly in trial settings. This role requires strong litigation expertise, comprehensive knowledge of California laws, and excellent trial advocacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Represent the company in insurance defense litigation, including conducting trials, hearings, depositions, and motion practice. * Develop and implement defense strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. * Handle complex cases involving personal injury, property damage, and other claims covered under insurance policies. * Collaborate with claims professionals, insureds, and experts to assess legal strategies and ensure optimal defense. * Manage all aspects of trial preparation, including discovery, legal research, and drafting of pleadings and motions. * Provide legal advice and risk assessments to internal stakeholders regarding potential litigation and trial exposure.

Qualifications:

* Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar. * Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, including trial experience. * Extensive knowledge of California civil procedure, insurance law, and relevant case law. * Strong courtroom presence and ability to argue cases effectively in front of a jury. * Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills. * Ability to manage a caseload independently and work collaboratively within a team. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and other legal professionals.
