Responsibilities The Area Manager provides leadership and oversight of design and construction activities for large, complex projects (up to $250 million) and/or multiple smaller projects with an aggregate value up to $250 million. The role involves interfacing with Division Strategy and senior hospital leadership for project coordination and communication. The manager oversees project objectives, manages budgets, cash flow forecasting, risk resolution, and ensures projects are completed successfully in terms of quality, timeliness, and cost. This position reports to the Area Director and supervises 4 or more Senior Project Managers and/or Project Managers.
Manage scheduling and project delivery processes for all assigned projects.
Lead project teams in establishing and maintaining scope, schedule, and budget; communicate project status internally and externally.
Coordinate between construction teams, consultants, and facility operations.
Monitor construction activities for compliance with documents, standards, regulations, and laws.
Maintain relationships with federal, state, and local authorities.
Negotiate fees and business decisions with project vendors following company policies.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience; Masters preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management, design, and construction projects.
Strong knowledge of project budgets and controls.
Proven success in delivering major healthcare capital projects.
Experience in facilitating project meetings and presentations.
Knowledge of project delivery methods like design-build, design-bid-build, etc.
Experience in developing project scope, schedules, and budgets.
Familiarity with construction processes, building, and safety codes.
Knowledge of regulatory authorities like OSHPD/HCAI (for California positions) and similar agencies.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge Knowledge in health facility pre-construction services and equipment planning.
Effective problem-solving, risk analysis, and contingency planning skills.
Required Technical Skills Proficiency with Google Office Suite, MS Project, Excel, Blue Beam, Adobe Pro, or similar tools.
Preferred Training Lean Process Improvement, Change Management, Evidence-Based Design, Sustainability, Project Management Software.
Pay Range $51.66 - $74.91/hour
