WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Assistant Manager (Assets) will be responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, asset tracking, and efficient handling of goods within the shipping department, including receiving raw materials (packaging and ingredients). This role supports the Warehouse Inventory Manager in coordinating warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate shipments, and proper documentation of assets and inventory. Special emphasis on managing correctly the packaging, ingredients and finished products of Generous Brands (Beverages / CPG). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with hands-on experience in warehouse logistics.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members to consistently perform at a high level.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and oversight to support day-to-day departmental operations.
- Manage staffing and task assignments; offer regular performance feedback, encourage professional growth, recognize achievements, and address performance or behavioral concerns promptly.
- Administer performance appraisals, enforce policies and procedures, and apply corrective actions as necessary, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
- Promote and model high standards of integrity, fairness, and consistency across all interactions and decisions.
- Conduct and support shift meetings (including off-shift/weekends) and communicate operational risks or gaps to leadership in a timely manner.
- Compile and analyze data to support budget development; assist with the preparation and presentation of both preliminary and final budget documents.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining inventory procedures that promote accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Monitor, reconcile and report inventory losses (e.g., damages, shrink, mis-rotation) and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence, especially packaging, ingredients and finished goods from Generous Brands.
- Prepare analytical reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual business unit performance reviews.
- Drive performance in key operational areas such as safety, quality, service, and efficiency by analyzing and responding to data trends.
- Create and manage workflows using tools such as SharePoint to track productivity, equipment usage, facility metrics, and budgetary goals.
- Facilitate regular team check-ins to provide updates, align on goals, gather feedback, and discuss challenges.
- Collaborate with Safety teams to create, update, and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Support and enforce food safety and regulatory guidelines within assigned areas.
- Contribute to the warehouse safety program by ensuring team members receive proper training and follow best practices.
- Oversee timely and accurate physical and system-based receipt, organization, and storage of inventory of packaging, raw materials and finished goods, especially on Generous Brands items.
- Ensure effective communication and operational consistency between shifts.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, repairs, and preventative maintenance for over 2,000 assets and various warehouse items.
- Manage inventory operations, including cycle counts, audit programs, FEFO rotation, shrink, and fill rate accuracy. Ensure daily and weekly reconciliation of Generous Brands raw materials inventory (packaging and ingredients).
- Reconcile inventory transactions for rented assets across internal systems, physical counts, and vendor records.
- Support efficient warehouse operations by configuring storage layouts and coordinating product movement, including offsite storage when needed.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of rented assets to ensure operational continuity.
- Review system-generated reports to ensure data accuracy and proper functioning of Warehouse Management (WMS) and ERP systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School/GED with two years’ experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management or related operational leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience providing leadership to a diverse and dynamic workforce.
- Proven experience supervising and directing shift operations in a food production or manufacturing facility.
- Forklift Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with email communication and general computer operations; working knowledge of standard business software.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field) or
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center operations with a focus on shipping and outbound logistics.
- Familiarity with inventory control methods, including cycle counting and just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience managing large teams in high-volume environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Environmental exposure –cold/wet conditions (40°ree; or below/subzero temperatures), will work in the warehouse building and, in all plants (indoor and outdoor).
- Exposure to mechanical parts that vary from freezing to hot temperatures in excess to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Exposure to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical current, and chemicals.
- Support weekends and holidays as needed.
- Occasional sitting, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and stretching, walking as job requires.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 1st Shift 08:00 am – 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday, when business requires before/after hours will be mandatory.
