Summary:
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will provide daily assistance to the team in Catalyst’s Phoenix location. Our ideal candidate will be ready to apply their current knowledge and take on new tasks. In this role, we would expect an employee to begin mastering the skills required for full construction project management and working towards operating independently. The team will provide guidance and support during the learning process. Responsibilities/Duties:
Support the project manager and superintendent on assigned projects, including site visits
Assist with gathering and distributing information to stakeholders and team
Assist with analyzing and resolving field construction issues
Assist with maintaining and reviewing submittal logs
Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain RFIs & Submittals
Develop and maintain project schedule with the Project Manager’s input
Prepare subcontracts and change orders
Prepare meeting minutes
Scope review subcontractor bids
Provide project manager subcontract award recommendations
Assist with Preconstruction design meetings and bidding process.
Attend meetings and training as assigned
Complete projects as assigned
Requirements:
2-3 years of experience within Construction Management preferred as a Project Engineer
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil or Architectural Engineering preferred, but not required
Reliable transportation
High level of confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with Owners/Clients
Working knowledge of construction management processes and methods
Familiarity with building products, construction details, and all safety regulations
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, and other PM software
Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
Occasionally may need to travel and visit sites during inclement weather
