Position Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organized Assistant Superintendent to join our field operations team. This role supports the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day job site activities, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring all work meets our quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on commercial construction experience, excellent communication skills, and a drive to grow into a leadership role.
Primary Responsibilities
Work alongside the Superintendent to manage daily site operations, including scheduling trades and coordinating deliveries.
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Inspect work regularly to maintain quality and adherence to plans and specifications.
Keep accurate daily logs, photo records, and other site documentation.
Participate in safety talks, progress meetings, and site walkthroughs.
Maintain clear communication with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project managers.
Monitor material usage, track inventory, and report shortages or delivery delays.
Take the lead on site activities when the Superintendent is unavailable.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ on-site construction experience (field engineer, foreman, laborer, or similar).
Knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and blueprint reading.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Solid communication and teamwork abilities.
Basic computer skills; experience with platforms like ProjectSight, Procore, or PlanGrid preferred.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to various job sites.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field preferred.
Experience with commercial ground-up builds or renovation projects is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
Ability to navigate uneven surfaces, climb, and walk the site for extended periods.
Lift and move up to 50 lbs as needed.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 annually
