Cabinet Maker

We are seeking a skilled cabinet maker with a strong ability to read blueprints, operate woodworking machinery, and effectively use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointer, planer, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood stock.
  • Use various hand tools to fabricate organ consoles and various sub-assemblies.
  • Use blueprints or drawings to plan the sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
  • Match material for wood species, color, grain, and texture.
  • Trim component parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using a boring machine.
  • Glue, fit, and clamp parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit, using clamps or a clamping machine.
  • Drive screws or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints.
  • Sand and scrape surfaces and joints of articles to prepare the article for finishing.
  • Repair high-grade articles of furniture as needed.
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls, as needed.
  • Complete all required safety training.
  • Follow all safety rules and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the plant.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in cabinet making, building, and woodworking.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Skill in using both hand and power tools.
  • Experience in assembling and measuring using tape measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of woodworking experience required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and up to 100 lbs using a team lift.
  • Comfortable working around dust and standing for up to 8 hours per day with occasional bending and kneeling.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a manufacturing environment operating Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4 pm. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection are provided to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macungie, PA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
