Senior Construction Foreman

Murphy Oil Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Foreman to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of offshore construction projects across our offshore operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned offshore construction leader with extensive experience in facility upgrades, repairs, and modifications, who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.

The Construction Foreman will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote. Periodic travel to our offshore facilities is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closely with Facility Engineers, Asset Integrity teams, and Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) to plan, execute, and complete construction projects, TARs, and facility repairs.
  • Influence design during early phases for optimum constructability and efficiency.
  • Oversee work scope development, RFQ preparation, contractor selection, scheduling, and budgeting for assigned projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, MOCs, and fabrication plans to verify constructability and alignment with project goals.
  • Manage logistics, materials, and procurement processes to ensure timely delivery and cost control.
  • Directly manage and mentor Offshore Construction Managers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure consistent execution across all assigned projects.
  • Provide detailed daily progress reporting and participate in weekly stakeholder updates to track milestones and resolve issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement in work methods, safety culture, and cost optimization.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Willing to attend and be able to pass HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 20 years of offshore oil and gas construction experience, including supervisory roles such as Foreman, Superintendent, or Construction Manager.
  • Proven record managing large-scale offshore projects, including facility modifications, coatings, integrity-related repairs, and equipment or pipeline installation.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, including SEMS, BSEE, and BOEM standards.
  • Expertise in contractor management, crew competency review, cost control, budgeting, purchase requisitions, and procurement processes.
  • Skilled in project development and management, material, cost, and labor estimating, and budget planning and oversight.
  • Strong understanding of ASME codes, EPC processes, NDT inspections, and manufacturing/procurement best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills, for project tracking, reporting, and cost analysis.
  • Experienced in preparing, maintaining, and submitting regulatory and project documentation to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Adept at stakeholder engagement, cross-functional leadership, and identifying cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
